About Celeste
Bilingual in French and English, I grew up and was educated in France in a bilingual family, with a French father and a British mother. I moved to London to follow my passion for English Literature, then moved to Edinburgh to pursue a master's and I just completed my PhD in English Literature, in which I also studied French philosophy. I am a compassionate, enthusiastic and optimistic person and I always pursue what I am passionate about. I believe my academic knowledge as well as my tutoring experience enable me to help, encourage and inspire those who wish to learn effectively and with a positive mindset!

The basis of my tutoring mindset is to build self-confidence because I believe this is the most important step to learn efficiently. Words, language and literature can seem like daunting worlds to conquer, but I believe they are incredibly resourceful tools in life, which enable us to evolve personally as well as academically, and this is what I aim to show through my tutoring! I always encourage positivity and determination because I think the key to effective tutoring is to first and foremost establish a relationship of trust with my tutees. Rather than a task, I want to show that literature and languages are an opportunity to not only evolve and grow individually, but also expand the mind's horizons in both a personal and an academic setting. I have 8 years of tutoring experience in both French and English, at all levels. I have helped students with English up to Advanced Highers level in Scotland and A level in England, as well as Primary and Secondary level. I have considerable experience teaching French to children as well as adults, from the age of 5 years old onwards! I have experience with both in-person and online tutoring, with students from around the world. I am also a Tutor at the University of Edinburgh and I have been teaching undergraduate seminars at university level (First and Second years) since September 2021. I have professional accreditation as Associate Fellow of Higher Education (Advance HE).

Céleste is the most wonderful French tutor we could have hoped to find for our son.
