About Kate
I am a French and Spanish (BA) graduate with First Class Honors from the University of Bristol. I have several months worth of experience 1:1 tutoring with French and Spanish students (ages 14-65), some for leisure and helping others achieve language exams (notably students taking Business English classes). I have received my TEFL certification which has instructed me on how to give 1:1, large group and telephone lessons.

I am an organised and professional tutor who believes in instilling a postive learning attitude by making sure my lessons are engaging, fun and appropriately suited to my students. I am happy to give lessons to students of 11+ years. No previous language knowledge is required. The only requirement is that the student be keen to learn English!
I prefer to do 1:1 classes since I have more experience doing this. That being said, I am able to also teach in groups if required. I always ensure that the class is student-based, meaning that the class content is fully adapted to the student's needs, and as much of the lesson-time will be used to allow the student to practice their language skills.
I always spend around 5 or 10 minutes with a warm-up at the start to ease students back into thinking in English before starting the content for the lesson and end with a 5-minute summary of the vocabulary and topics learnt in the lesson, as well as advice for practising at home and sometimes explain 'homework' to prepare for the next lesson. Students are encouraged to express which topics interest them most and what their aims are so that each lesson can be as useful to them as possible!

Cancellation Policy: Please cancel within 48 hours of the lesson. Any lessons cancelled within 24 hours will not be refunded and lessons cancelled between 48 and 24 hours will only receive a 50% refund. Please cancel by emailing or calling me directly.
Travel costs will depend on the distance travelled. Receipts will be kept as proof of travel costs and will be included in the total cost of the lesson.
