About John
As an undergraduate at the University of Kentucky, I balanced many jobs and volunteering opportunities. I worked as a part time tutor while being a premed student and acquiring shadowing hours. During my junior and senior year, I continued tutoring while working as a peer counselor for struggling freshman and as a TA.
As a medical student, I served as president for my specialty club and on the SGA diversity committee. I have a special commitment to helping minority and underserved students with a track record to prove it.

John was my tutor for mainly biology, but I was also taking chemistry at the same time. He was also well informed in that world of science, so he was able to tutor me for both classes when necessary. John makes challenging concepts or problems understandable and approachable. John was easily one of the best tutors I’ve ever had in my 5 years of undergrad. Like the concepts he helped us with, he is also a very approachable teacher. I was never afraid to ask a question or help answer a question. He made everyone feel welcomed to ask anything and everything. John is not only great at teaching, but also a really down-to-earth guy.
