About Afiza
Hi, I'm Afiza, a current medical student studying at the University of Plymouth! I am in my 5th year of medicine, and so I am very familiar with both the GCSE and A-level curriculum, as I had to take the new exams when I was back in school a few years ago. When tutoring students, I try to discover the best approach that works for them by finding out where their strengths and weaknesses lie. I myself have had multiple different tutors in the past during my exams so I know exactly how it feels when you think that a tutor is not doing a good enough job, thus I pride myself on being able to work alongside the student and to take learning at their pace rather than rushing and cramming information. I have had numerous experiences with tutoring students from the ages of 11-16 years old in particular as I have been volunteering to tutor since I was in secondary school. Therefore, I have built up a range of teaching styles which I use to tailor my teaching according to what each individual requires. Education: - Studying Medicine at University of Plymouth (BMBS Degree) - Studied Biology, Chemistry and Psychology at the London Academy of Excellence (A-levels) - Studied GCSEs at Abbs Cross Academy and Arts College Additional Requirements: - Enhanced child & adult workforce medical student DBS

Science teacher at Hornchurch. My lesson planning is based around going over one or two key concepts, and nailing these down well instead of working on multiple topics where the student feels as if they are not fully confident in answering exam questions on. Before the end of each lesson, in order for me to gather the relevant materials for the next, I always ensure that I talk to the student so they can update me on what they are struggling with so I can be the utmost prepared for our next session together.

Afiza will make a great addition to this site team since she is a highly determined individual who will do anything to help a struggling student. She is able to put aside her own time to ensure that each student fully undertsands their academic content to achieve the best grade possible. She always portrays a very friendly and professional attitude to her work and some of these key attributes are what make her a fantastic tutor.
