About Jeffrey
I started my career as an investment banker with Lehman Brothers in New York where I worked on various energy snd esoteric tax credit monetizaton transactions.
By way of background, I am a highly dedicated, driven, ethical and entrepreneurial individual with a unique background and diverse skillset acquired through years of experience across a broad spectrum of financial, technical and operational roles. I am a former junior hockey player raised on a third-generation family farm in central Alberta. After attending Middlebury College and London School of Economics I was recruited by Lehman Brothers to join the Power and Energy Group of its Investment Banking Division where I was involved in various sell side mandates, esoteric renewable tax credit monetization’s, high yield debt offerings, restructurings and private placements.
In 2009 I left investment banking and co-founded an oil and gas technology company, where I was responsible for the funding, development and commercialization of a novel enhanced oil recovery technology. In my most recent role as COO and Interim CEO, I was a very effective leader with direct oversight of 30 employees and consultants engaged in not only strategic planning, corporate finance and capital raising initiatives, but also the day to day operations and execution of a $24 million pilot project in parallel with conventional heavy oil production operations. I was also secretary and member of the board alongside independents and representatives from private equity funds such as Sprott Asset Management.
While at this entity, over $75 million dollars in equity and debt financing was secured to fund technology development and acquire and integrate two separate heavy oil properties.

I’m a former hockey player that grew up on a third generation farm. Athletics required a positive attitude and team first mindset which is what I bring to the table every day. As a farmer, you often find that the simple solutions to complex problems are the best and sometimes only way to keep operations going. To execute on that simplicity, a firm understanding of the foundational basics is required. When I I mentor and tutor, that’s where I start and that’s where I’ve found success.
