About Jennifer
I have 9 years of classroom teaching experience. I viewed my students as my "own kids". I took an interest in them outside of the classroom as well. I live my teaching life under the theory of " you can't have rules without a relationship". I believe that students are more than just grades. I often attended their sporting events, social events and cheered them on into adulthood. Many of my former students have stayed in touch over the years. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology, a certification in family and consumer sciences in my state of residence. I have a provisional teaching license in my state. Sadly it has expired as I have not been in the classroom for 12 years.

I'm a former Junior High teacher. I wrote a special curriculum for students of that age to improve their study skills and taught it in a class. My approach to teaching is to work with my student's strengths rather than their weaknesses and teach them HOW to learn. Once you discover the best ways for you to learn, you can learn anything. My classroom teaching always included lots of varied methods and a lot of fun. Learning doesn't have to be a drag. It can and should be exciting! On a personal note- I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. I know the struggles and emotional toll it can take on a student. That was me as a kid. My diagnosis was life-changing and provided me with special insights into learning methods that can help students with all difficulties.
