About Jack
I was always pretty competent in mathematics. I completed courses in algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus, trigonometry, and logic. My first job in high school was as a math tutor for kids in the neighborhood. As I got older I picked up a wider variety of students and really honed my understanding of the subjects I was teaching. A few years after graduating I entered the school system as an educator and took on a few different classes. I eventually became disillusioned to many of the methods required in the school system as well as the constant games of office politics. I have since been working as a sound engineer but I still find joy in helping students when I can.

My lessons are centrally focused on whatever concept is difficult for the student to understand. After identifying what that concept is, I present the idea in a number of ways to better build the connections between topics. I offer help in the form of assistance with homework, reviewing previous tests to diagnose errors, preparing for upcoming tests, and forming examples to solidify concepts.
