I am an ex pupil from St Paul's School in London. I have taught 4 or 5 students in my local area for the last two years, ranging from 7 year olds to common entrance (13+). I have just finished school and achieved an A* in my Maths A Level

My teaching method varies depending on the student. For younger children, I try to use a pommodoro method of teaching, whereby they work for a certain period of time, usually 15 minutes and then are given a 5 minute break. Depending on the student, I have used various techniques to try and explain how things work, including relating maths problems to hobbies e.g. football, breaking down algebraic terms into more simple number based problems and using different methods to explain processes e.g. partitioning, rounding to help multiplication
