I believe the most important part of any tutoring relationship is building confidence—both in specific skills and in long-term ability. My approach combines encouragement with high standards: I work as both a tutor and a cheerleader, helping students recognize their strengths while developing the tools they need to succeed.
I bring eight years of experience in English education to the table. I spent six years tutoring college-level writing (both at community and university level), taught high school English for two years, and I currently work as a college adjunct teaching a developmental English course. This range of experience allows me to support students at different stages of their academic journey and understand the challenges they face.
I offer tutoring in essay writing at both the high school and college level, reading comprehension and analysis (including strategies to improve understanding and retention), grammar and spelling, and resume writing support. Whether a student needs help organizing an essay, strengthening reading skills, or polishing professional documents, I aim to create a supportive environment that builds skill, confidence, and independence.
Fun fact: when I tutored at university level, a student said I would be on their Mount Rushmore of tutors!
