About Valerie
I spent 10+ years as a Piano teacher, resulting in approximately 80 students throughout the years. Each year my students were featured in a Spring recital (the highlight of the year!) It's wonderful watching students blossom into musicians!
After homeschooling my two sons, I decided that I wanted to volunteer as a reading tutor (Phonics) with AmeriCorps. I loved seeing the youngsters' changes when they finally "got it". I was with AmeriCorps for three years. The only reason that I stopped with them is because I had to move to another state. But I would love to teach again.

I set up lessons that are specifically designed for my student's own personal pace. To see them "blossom" in their journey brings me joy! Whether it's English or Piano, my goal is to produce "exceptional" students who are proud of themselves! I consider myself very patient and will stick with my students until the job/journey is done. I love to make the lesson fun as my students learn.
I specialize in beginner-intermediate piano, and phonics and conversational English. Age doesn't matter.
