About Lauren
I am a full-time law enforcement officer based in Southwest Florida. I have an M.A. in forensic and legal psychology (non-clinical, completed 12/2020) a B.A. in psychology and a B.S. in criminal justice from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2016.
My relevant professional experience includes working as a behavioral health technician in an inpatient mental health facility and as a law enforcement officer in Southwest Florida. I have also volunteered for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), The Crisis Text Line, and as an English tutor to non-English speaking adults. I have not had the opportunity to be a tutor yet, but I'm looking forward to using my education and experience to help students achieve their academic goals!

My goal is to facilitate students' learning in the format that is most beneficial for them. I prefer to enable students to think critically and grasp the information themselves, rather than just reciting information at them in the hopes they can memorize it. I believe that this method creates a more entertaining and interactive learning environment and, more importantly, will help students commit the topics to memory and be able to recall them more easily, even after test day!
