About Tristan
I am an experienced speaker and teacher who uses and practices the language daily. I have 7 years of language experience. 4 of those years were academic experience and 3 were hands-on, practical experience translating, speaking, writing, and teaching English and Spanish to both Spanish and English speakers. I have interacted with citizens of many different Spanish speaking countries and understand the cultural and linguistic differences that come with many of those countries and states.

I love to get my students speaking first by giving them relevant, modern, practical, and local vocabulary and practice activities. I use the language as much as possible to give the most exposure to my students. I strive to meet my students where they are at in the language and build from there. If they need help with reading, writing, etc., I am able to focus on those areas instead of speaking. A typical lesson may look like this: - We'll review any homework assignments given to the student by their school and/or myself. - Then, we'll use relevant subject books and materials to address their needs with a comprehensive explanation of the grammatical/phonetic rules, followed by meaningful activities and practices, until a firm grasp of the subject is achieved. - More advanced speaking exercises will come later and a personal assignment will be given, if accepted, as additional personal practice to have a firm grip on the subject. As a tutor, I strive to be animated! I help my students where they are. I use materials that are flexible in structure and are based off of filling a language need rather than a curriculum structure. Giving lessons like this allows me to teach students of all ages and levels of Spanish.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
He might buy you ice cream if you are having a bad day, that is the kind of fellow that Tristan is. Having worked and taught along side him, Tristan is easy to talk to and is a genuine person allowing for comfortable conversation for learning. Having taught me a few things he definitely knows how not to be condescending and is patient when I took time in understanding a subject, but also applied the necessary pressure.
Tristan is a very good friend of mine. He and I have served as missionaries together in the past, and taught people then, and that is how I know he would be a good teacher. He is a very loving and very fun person, but he takes work seriously as well. He also is not afraid to do the right thing, and he will focus on the person and their specific needs. This is why I highly recommend him as a teacher!
Thanks to Tristan, I understand it and I find it easier to get by on a daily basis thanks to his excellent private lessons.
He makes it seem so easy and simple.
Plus, his patience and enthusiasm makes you want to talk and come back to see him at the next class to learn more!
Thank you so much.View more recommendations
