About Michael
I am a native English speaker with near-native French, having lived and worked in France for over 20 years. I hold a PhD in Language Sciences from the University of Lille and spent ten years lecturing there in French and English. I understand the specific challenges Irish students face with French and know how to help them overcome them. I am patient, experienced and genuinely passionate about the language.

I offer one-to-one French grinds for Junior Cert, Leaving Cert and university-level students in Dublin, either in person or online.
I lived and worked in France for over 20 years, reaching near-native level in the language, and spent a decade as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lille teaching French at every level. I hold a PhD in Language Sciences and have published research on language learning and reading strategies.
I focus on the areas students find most challenging — grammar, oral expression, written production and exam technique — and tailor each session to what the student needs most.
Lessons suit secondary and university students at any level, whether starting from scratch, building confidence or aiming for top grades.
