About Reagan
I am a first year college student with a love for literature, music, and the arts. During my senior year of high school I volunteered at my local elementary school and fell in the love with the kids I taught and their teacher. Not only did they learn a lot from me but I learned a lot from them. Their strength, honesty, creativity, and wonder. I realized how important a mentor and tutor is to young children, how much they struggle and how much they want to learn. Teachers these days are stretched too thin to make sure every child gets what they need and I want to fill the gap. I am a college music major and I have experience with percussion and vocalization. While I am the best at teaching English and the related subjects, I am also passionate about music and often would teach my elementary students about musicals and the art of singing.

Every child is special and different with their own strengths and interests. My goal as a tutor is to give your kids the space to share their vulnerabilities and to learn not to be scared of the things they don't think they are good at. Since I have experience in the public school system, I have worked with neurotypical kids and kids with ASD and ADHD. I have seen them compare themselves to other kids and seen them equate their worth to their grade. My goal as your child's tutor is to not only give them the knowledge to be successful in their next steps but to also have the excitement and confidence to learn and make mistakes. I have been trained and mentored by a third grade teacher and I know that every child needs something a little different. I will base my lessons on the individual needs of your child and will build a mentorship and space where they learn to be comfortable advocating for themselves and their needs. I have a lot of experience in English, writing, poetry, literature, the dramatic arts, and music.
