About Bethan
I know how transformative clear, thoughtful feedback can be. Throughout my own academic journey, I benefited enormously from mentors who didn’t just correct my work, but helped me understand why something worked or didn’t. That’s the approach I aim to pass on to my students. The aim of tutorials is to help you improve independently and eventually be able to assess your own work.
My academic background has given me a strong foundation in analytical thinking, argument construction, and precise, effective writing. I am good at trimming over-length work (I have done it very often..!).
I’m particularly interested in working with students who want to push their work to a higher level, whether that’s achieving top grades, gaining confidence in their writing, or preparing for competitive university applications. I aim to create a supportive but intellectually rigorous environment, where you feel encouraged to ask questions, challenge ideas, and make meaningful progress.

I graduated from Oxford with three first-class dissertation-length pieces and have since been admitted to an MSc in International Policy at LSE. I’m passionate about sharing the techniques and knowledge I’ve developed, and applying them directly to your work in a practical, results-driven way.
In addition, I offer support with personal statements, university applications, and interview preparation. I have particular experience guiding prospective Oxford applicants, especially those applying for English, through the admissions process with confidence and clarity.
