About Harry
Hi, I’m Harry! I’m currently studying Accounting and Finance at the University of Melbourne and working at a large accounting firm where I apply the concepts I teach in a professional setting. I have several years of experience mentoring and teaching others, both academically and through community service, which has strengthened my ability to explain ideas clearly and adapt to different learning styles. I have expertise in Math Methods (45 scaled score), Specialist Math (46 scaled score), as well as accounting, financial math, and economics at university level, and offer tutoring to both high school students at any level and university students! I am also extremely passionate when it comes to helping students consider and decide on their career path, study options, etc; those conversations amidst our sessions will never be off the table!

My approach to tutoring is student-centred and adaptable. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into simple, practical steps while encouraging students to engage actively through discussion and problem-solving. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students to discover solutions themselves, which not only deepens their understanding but also builds confidence and independence.
A typical lesson runs for about 60 minutes. When we begin, I'd first like to take some time to get to know you and your strengths and aspects you feel need work, then in subsequent lessons I like to begin with a quick review of previous material, move into new content in manageable steps, and finish with application—whether through practice questions, case studies, or real-world examples.
My qualifications include studying a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance and working as an auditor in a large accounting firm, where I apply these concepts daily in a professional environment. Beyond academics, my two years of volunteer church service gave me experience teaching people from diverse backgrounds with patience, clarity, and empathy—skills that transfer directly into tutoring.
My lessons are best suited for high school and university students, particularly those studying accounting, finance, or business. That said, I enjoy working with learners of all ages who are motivated to grow. Above all, I see tutoring as more than covering content— it’s about helping students build lasting study habits, resilience, and confidence that extend far beyond the classroom.
