About Amie
Aside from my history degree, I have taught all subjects from nursery age to dissertation research papers, from maths to phonics, English literature to media studies. I am currently working in a primary school in London, working 1:1 with a small group of SEN year 4 pupils, as well as assisting the teacher throughout the classroom.

My method is to first understand the pupil, handing the initiative to them to explain their likes and dislikes both with the subject and their general dislikes; this enables a mutual teaching relationship. I then utilise the curriculum against these likes to create a fun and engaging environment. For instance, one of the boys I currently work with doesn’t enjoy English but he does enjoy performing. As a result, we worked on a performance script to which he acted out at the end of the term.

Perfect! Very well organised and realisable tutor! She prepared a special “strategy” class with a power point and specific material tailored to my needs. Also, she is taking the time to give specific feedback and direction to assist on my progress. The lessons are very dynamic and well paced, taking time to work slower and more throughly the areas I find more difficult. All in all, a lovely and professional tutor.
