About Julen
This summer I graduated from Christ's College, Cambridge with a first-class degree in History. I was awarded the Levy-Plumb Prize for outstanding academic achievement in both my first and second year, as well as the Sir John Plumb Prize in my final year. I achieved six grade 9s at GCSE and 44/45 points at the International Baccalaureate, with top grades in all six subjects including three Higher Level subjects of History, English, and Spanish. I hope to use my time tutoring to help students achieve their academic goals and build skills which will serve them wherever they go next.

Lessons are focused on the student, with the goal of building real skills at GCSE, A Level, and IB. Oxbridge applicants are also welcome. As such we will not focus heavily on basic facts, but move beyond to encourage critical thinking through structured discussions that will grow a student's ability to read analytically and write incisively. Studying history is much more than memorising obscure dates, names, and timelines - though this certainly plays a part - it involves analysis, imagination, and dialogue to construct well-informed, rigorous arguments. For students, therefore, the focus will be on building real skills that will boost grades and encourage a fascination with the past and present.
