About Sam
I’m currently at the University of Leeds studying Financial Mathematics BSc. I achieved grade 8 Maths GCSE and grade A at A-level. With the help of some excellent teachers (and lots of hard work!) I moved from being an average student to achieving high grades, and I would love to pass that on to students who are now studying for their GCSEs. I recognise that while not everyone loves maths, a positive working relationship with a supportive teacher/tutor can help students to grow in confidence, overcome problems and have a positive impact on their learning!

Maths can be frustrating, but growing skills and confidence is the key to success! Each lesson will be tailored to the student’s own personal needs, and I can help with all GCSE topics, including further Maths. Beyond the curriculum we can also go through exam questions and papers, develop exam skills or improve revision techniques. I will also aim to develop students’ confidence so that they believe they can tackle their work, and go into their exams feeling good about their maths skills! I am also happy to go over mock exams or class work to further improve students’ knowledge, understanding and confidence.
