About Doris
Hello! I’m Doris, a Financial Engineering graduate with a strong passion for Mathematics and problem-solving. I enjoy breaking down challenging concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps.
I want to teach because I believe Mathematics becomes much less intimidating when it is explained in a way that makes sense to the student. My goal is not only to help students get the right answers, but also to help them understand the concepts, build confidence, and develop the skills to solve problems independently.
I am patient, approachable, and committed to creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel free to ask questions and learn at their own pace. Whether a student needs help with a particular topic, wants to improve their grades, or is preparing for an exam, I am happy to support them along the way.

My approach to tutoring is to make Mathematics simple, practical, and easier to understand. I first identify the student’s areas of difficulty and then tailor each lesson to their level and learning pace.
I use clear explanations, worked examples, step-by-step problem solving, and plenty of practice questions to help students understand the reasoning behind each answer rather than simply memorising formulas. I also encourage students to ask questions and work through problems independently so they can build confidence and improve their problem-solving skills.
A typical lesson lasts 60–90 minutes, depending on the student’s age, level, and learning needs. Lessons can focus on strengthening foundational concepts, keeping up with schoolwork, preparing for examinations, or improving overall mathematical confidence.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Financial Engineering, which has given me a strong foundation in Mathematics, Statistics, and quantitative problem-solving. My lessons are suitable for primary and secondary school students who would like additional support, exam preparation, or help developing stronger mathematical skills.
