About Jessica
Hi! I'm a final-year medical student at King's College London with over eight years of teaching and tutoring experience. Alongside studying medicine, I've taught students from primary school through to GCSE in Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, essay writing, and English as a foreign language, both in person and online. I've also worked as a classroom teacher, group tutor, Model United Nations trainer, and performing arts teacher, giving me experience teaching students with a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
I chose to become a tutor because I genuinely enjoy helping people learn. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing a student gain confidence, overcome a topic they once found difficult, or achieve results they didn't think were possible. I believe every student can succeed with the right support, encouragement, and teaching approach.
As someone who has achieved top GCSE and A-Level grades before progressing to medical school, I understand first-hand the challenges students face and the study techniques that make a real difference. Rather than simply helping students memorise content, I focus on ensuring they truly understand the material so they can apply their knowledge confidently in lessons and exams.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and adaptable. I create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that's where real learning happens. Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit individual learning styles, strengths, and goals. At the start of our sessions, we'll identify which topics need the most attention and create a clear plan to achieve your goals. I explain concepts in a simple, easy to understand way before reinforcing them with worked examples, practice questions, and exam-style problems. I encourage questions throughout the lesson, creating a supportive environment where no question is too small.
For GCSE students, I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, understanding mark schemes, and practising the types of questions that commonly appear in exams. For primary and secondary students, I focus on building a strong foundation while developing confidence and independent learning skills.
As a final-year medical student, I understand the dedication and effective study strategies needed to perform well in challenging subjects. My aim is not only to help students improve their grades but also to develop the confidence, critical thinking, and study skills that will support them throughout their education.
