About Mihir
I am Mihir Umrotkar, a passionate FIDE rated chess player with experience in tournament and competitive chess. I enjoy teaching students in a simple, practical and interactive way that helps them improve steadily while also enjoying the game.
I specialize in teaching beginners and intermediate players, focusing on tactical awareness, positional understanding, opening ideas and game analysis. My goal is to help students build confidence, think strategically and develop strong fundamentals in chess.
I believe every student learns differently, so I personalize lessons according to their level, strengths and goals. Along with improving chess skills, I also encourage disciplined thinking, patience and problem-solving through the game.

Hello, my name is Mihir Umrotkar and I am a FIDE rated chess player with a current FIDE rating of 1550 and a classical rating around 1500. I actively participate in tournament chess and continuously work on improving my game.
My lessons are designed for beginners and intermediate players who want to improve their tactical vision, opening understanding, positional play and overall confidence in chess. I focus on practical learning through puzzles, game analysis, strategy lessons and interactive practice games.
Every lesson is personalized according to the student’s level and goals. I teach online in a friendly, structured and easy-to-understand manner to help students enjoy chess while steadily improving their skills and rating.
