About Crystal
I am currently a finance professional in her mid twenties, but have never stopped tutoring on the side because of the fulfillment it brings to me and my students. I graduated from the University of Toronto with a Double Major in International Relations and Human Biology; my diverse background gives me a multifaceted perspective that I love to share.

Hi! My name is Crystal, and I have been tutoring students from grade 1 to grade 12 since I was 15. My first tutoring job was at a centre in Richmond Hill, where I myself was a student. I had a tutor, an older lady, who was helping me with grade 12 chemistry and biology at the time. I wasn't doing too well at those subjects, and to put it bluntly, felt dumb, felt behind, and felt like something was wrong with me. However, this tutor was patient, was so kind, and showed me I needed to learn in a different way than simply reading textbooks and doing practice questions. I needed to understand the bigger picture of what I was learning, and why I was learning something, which really helped me achieve great marks in those subjects at the end of the year.
I took a lot from being a frequent tutoring student. My method is finding out the best way that you/your child learns, constantly observing and tuning my methods to their learning style. I empathize with my students, and above all, want to ensure they do not feel alone in this very daunting journey that is 12 long years of education.
