About Annie
With 6 years of experience and over 300 students taught, I have built my tutoring style around clarity, encouragement, and practical learning. I teach Guitar to High School students, College learners, and adults, and I make sure every lesson helps them move one step closer to their musical goals. My teaching philosophy is simple: music becomes easier when you learn at your own pace, understand the basics clearly, and enjoy the process. I focus on strong foundations such as finger strength, timing, rhythm patterns, clean chord switching, and picking techniques. I also include ear-training and simple music theory so students can understand how songs work, not just how to play them. One of my proudest achievements is guiding beginners who struggled with coordination but later played full songs with confidence. Many of my students have performed in school events, open-mic sessions, and college festivals. I always try to motivate students by choosing songs they like, breaking complex techniques into small steps, and celebrating every improvement. My lessons are friendly, structured, and flexible. I make sure each student feels supported, whether they are learning guitar for fun, performance, or personal growth. My goal is to help more learners discover confidence and creativity through the guitar.

My teaching approach for Guitar focuses on strong communication, adapting to individual learning styles, and helping students connect music with real-life situations. I teach in simple, clear steps so students feel confident from the very first session. I believe that learning guitar should be enjoyable, creative, and well-organised, so I design each class with a balanced mix of theory, technique, and practical application. I begin by understanding how each student learns. Some students prefer visual demonstrations, while others need audio explanations or slow repetition. I adjust my techniques based on what works best for them. This ensures that students progress smoothly without confusion or pressure. During lessons, I teach important guitar skills like strumming patterns, finger exercises, chord shapes, scales, rhythm patterns, and picking techniques. To make concepts easier, I use real-life music examples, such as popular songs, movie themes, or classical melodies. I also share small case studies—like how musicians use specific scales to create emotion or how different genres apply rhythm differently. Along with Guitar, I also teach related subjects like Basic Music Theory, Ear Training, Scales and Modes, Songwriting Basics, Chord Progression Building, and Performance Skills. This helps students gain a complete musical foundation. I encourage students to explore different genres such as pop, classical, blues, rock, jazz, and folk so they can discover their own style. Communication plays a big role in my sessions. I keep an open and friendly environment where students can ask questions anytime. I give regular feedback, help them set personal goals, and guide them on how to practise effectively at home. My vision is to help students become confident guitar players who understand not just how to play, but also why music works the way it does. Through adaptable teaching methods, practical examples, and thoughtful guidance, I support each student’s unique musical journey with patience and clarity.
