About Darian
I’m Darian — a writer, editor, and tutor with over 8 years of professional experience and more than 1,500 hours of online and in-person teaching. Though I'm new to Superprof, since 2019 I’ve helped 100+ students strengthen their writing, refine their ideas, and reach their academic goals.
I hold a dual Bachelor’s degree in Social Theory & Practice and French & Francophone Studies from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor (ranked the #1 public university in the U.S.), where I graduated with highest honors and over $25,000 in merit-based scholarships. I later earned a Master’s degree in Geography and Urban Planning from the University of Toronto, where I also served as Vice President of my student government.
Alongside English, Literature, and Academic Writing, I also tutor Social Sciences & Humanities (Geography, History, Sociology, Politics, Anthropology, Art History, and French). Having studied and worked in both the U.S. and Canada, I understand the subtle differences between education systems, and I help students navigate them with confidence.
I am a native English speaker and also fluent in French (B2) and Spanish (B2), with conversational knowledge of Persian (A2). Being a lifelong learner myself, I love helping students see language and ideas as tools to think more clearly, communicate more effectively, and express themselves more fully.

ABOUT MY LESSONS
My teaching approach is student-centered, practical, and results-driven. In our first session, I’ll assess your level, learning style, and goals. From there, I’ll design lessons that meet your immediate needs while building long-term skills.
For students focused on academic success, I can help you with:

I work best with high school and university students — especially ambitious learners who want to go beyond simply “getting an A.” My goal is to help you develop clarity, depth, and confidence in your writing and thinking so you can succeed in school and beyond.

Darian worked with me at the University of Michigan’s Residential College. Darian is extremely hardworking, caring and reliable. And I mean it.

We had a great session this summer at the park, eating some snacks while listening to French Pop songs, understanding the lyrics and singing along to some of them!
