About Hillary

I am a Physics and Chemistry teacher and STEM educator with over nine years of experience guiding learners across Uganda and Kenya.

I did not choose teaching by accident — I chose it because I remember what it feels like to stare at a Physics calculation or a Chemistry equation and feel completely stuck. I also remember the moment it finally made sense, when a good teacher broke it down in a way I could understand. That moment changed everything for me, and that is the feeling I want to give to every student I teach.

For me, teaching is more than covering the syllabus. It is about building confidence. I have worked with learners who told me "I am not a science person" and months later they were solving problems they once feared and scoring grades they thought were impossible. Watching that transformation is why I wake up excited to teach.

My background in education, robotics, and innovation has taught me that every learner can excel in science when it is taught in the right way — with patience, with real-life connections, and with practical problem solving. Physics and Chemistry are not just subjects to pass; they are ways of thinking, of understanding how the world works, from the electricity in your home to the reactions that shape our lives.

I teach because I want to make science simple, accessible, and even enjoyable for you. I want to help you move from confusion to clarity, from fear to confidence, and to show you that you are capable of much more than you think.

If you are looking for someone who will listen to you, support you, and stay with you until you truly understand, I would love to be your teacher.

My approach to private tutoring is very personal and practical — I don't believe in one-size-fits-all teaching.
Every student I meet is different. Some get lost in formulas, others in calculations or chemical equations. So my first goal in every lesson is to understand YOU — how you learn, where you get stuck, and what your exam goals are.

I teach Physics and Chemistry in English by starting with understanding, not memorizing. We break down complex topics like Newton's Laws, Electricity, Mole Concept, Electrolysis, and Organic Chemistry into simple, real-life explanations you can actually picture and remember. I use clear diagrams, everyday examples, and step-by-step problem solving so you never have to guess what to do next.

In our lessons, we solve together. I don't just give you notes — I guide you to think like a problem solver. I show you how to approach calculations, balance equations, interpret questions correctly, and structure your answers exactly the way examiners award marks. You will gain both knowledge and exam technique.

Because I also mentor in Robotics, Coding and Innovation, I often connect Physics and Chemistry to real projects — like how sensors work, how chemical reactions power technology, or how automation uses the same principles you learn in class. This makes science come alive and helps you remember it long after the exam.

My lessons are calm, supportive, and highly focused. I track your progress closely, correct your mistakes with care, and celebrate your improvement. Whether you are catching up, building confidence, or aiming for a top grade, I adapt every session to your pace and your goals.

With me, you won't just pass — you will finally understand and enjoy Physics and Chemistry.

Details

1. Fully Personalized Lesson
I prepare every lesson based on your level, your curriculum, and the topics you find most difficult — whether it's calculations, Mole Concept, Electricity, or Organic Chemistry.

2. Learn by Doing
We solve problems together step-by-step. I show you exactly how to approach questions and structure answers the way examiners award marks.

3. Support Beyond the Lesson
You get my guidance on homework questions and exam preparation tips between lessons, plus progress tracking.

4. Expert Teaching
You are learning with a (concealed information) qualified Physics & Chemistry teacher with 9+ years of experience who has helped learners move from confusion to top grades, and mentored students to win national and international STEM competitions.

Compared to many tutors who charge the same for just notes, I focus on making you truly understand and apply science — a skill that saves you money on retakes and opens doors to science, engineering, and technology pathways.

For my online international students, this is approximately $20 per hour — very competitive for specialized IGCSE & Competency-Based Physics and Chemistry coaching.
