About Pratik
I’m a First Class Mathematics graduate from the University of Warwick with an MSc in Mathematical Trading and Finance, currently working in Risk Management at a leading investment bank.
I want to teach because I’ve seen how often students struggle with the key concepts. I enjoy breaking down difficult ideas into simple, intuitive concepts and helping students build confidence. My goal is to show students that Maths can make sense—and even become something they enjoy and excel in.
As a student, I genuinely enjoyed GCSE and A-level Maths—it was challenging, engaging, and ultimately very rewarding. That experience motivates me to help students develop the same sense of understanding, confidence, and satisfaction in their own learning.
Alongside this, I volunteer at a children’s charity, where I work closely with teenagers to deliver activities for younger children while helping them build leadership and transferable skills, reinforcing my passion for supporting young people’s development.

I offer tailored one-to-one mathematics tuition for GCSE and A-Level students, both in-person (Rickmansworth, Watford, Croxley and surrounding areas) and online. Each lesson, typically lasting 60–90 minutes, is carefully designed around the individual student’s needs, goals, and current level.
My approach centres on building a deep, lasting understanding of mathematics. Rather than relying on memorisation, I focus on helping students understand why methods work, not just how to apply them. This develops genuine confidence and allows students to tackle unfamiliar problems with ease.
Lessons are structured to be both engaging and intellectually stimulating, encouraging students to think critically and develop a real appreciation for the subject. To support progress, I provide tailored homework and detailed feedback after each session, reinforcing key concepts and ensuring steady improvement.
As exams approach, I introduce carefully selected recent exam papers at the right time, combining strong conceptual understanding with strategic exam technique. This balanced approach is particularly effective for students aiming for top grades or competitive university places.
Each lesson is an opportunity to transform maths from a challenge into a subject that feels clear, logical, and even enjoyable. My aim is not only to improve results in mathematics, but to strengthen overall academic performance and confidence.
