About Taniya
I am a dedicated and experienced English Language and Literature tutor with a passion for helping students succeed. With over a year of tutoring experience and currently studying towards a Comparative Literature degree, I have supported countless students in achieving their academic goals. Whether it’s mastering exam techniques, improving essay writing, or building confidence in reading and analysis, I tailor my approach to meet each student’s unique needs. My passion for tutoring comes from my belief that every student has the potential to excel with the right guidance and support. I understand that English can sometimes feel overwhelming, but with a structured and engaging approach, I help students break down complex ideas, develop strong analytical skills, and express themselves clearly and effectively. Seeing my students gain confidence and achieve results they never thought possible is what motivates me the most. I take a student-centred approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the learner’s needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. My teaching methodology combines interactive discussions, structured essay writing practice, close reading of texts, and exam-focused techniques. I use past papers, model answers, and targeted exercises to help students develop analytical and critical thinking skills. Each lesson typically lasts 60 minutes, though longer sessions can be arranged for intensive revision or coursework support. I incorporate a mix of guided learning, independent tasks, and constructive feedback to build confidence and mastery of the subject. I am working towards a degree in Comparative Literature and have over 1 year of experience tutoring GCSE English Language & Literature, both in-person and online. I have worked with students of all abilities, helping them achieve top grades, improve their writing skills, and develop a deep understanding of literary texts. My lessons are designed for both GCSE students and SATs students whether they need help boosting their grades, mastering exam techniques, or developing a stronger appreciation of English. I also support students who struggle with confidence in reading and writing, helping them build skills in a structured and supportive way.
