About Alison
I love writing and reading and I enjoy helping students to explore new ways of expressing themselves. I have been published in New Writing Scotland and My Weekly, had work performed at the Traverse Theatre bar and I have read my work at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. I have performed at spoken word events in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle.

I use simple exercises to inspire students and introduce them to different types of prose and poetry. I use objects, paintings, photos and examples from literature to create ideas and forms.
I take students through the steps necessary to edit their own work and give positive and helpful feedback on their work.
I advise on query letters, synopses and agents along with possible markets for students’ work.
I create a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere in my classes.
