About Dr Herb
I am a credentialed teacher and counselor with a MEd, MPH, and an EdD. I have taught in the K-College system for over 25 years. My students have always performed at or above grade level. Most have graduated from college and are successful in their chosen career. I have done private tutoring in Math and Science for 10 years. Since 2017 I have been doing online tutoring using Zoom. I have helped students pass their High School Exit Exam, prepare for middle school and high school graduation, and earn good scores on their SAT and ACT tests.

I believe that each person is of infinite worth and is capable of achieving at the highest levels with support and proper guidance. As a tutor my jobs is to help release the student's potential and become an independent learner. When students are treated with dignity and respect, they can achieve great things. My purpose is to help students believe in their capacity to learn, grow and achieve.
I use a variety of approaches to teaching and learning: Lecture, discussion, problem solving, questioning, concept mapping, note review, procedural steps, application, short quizzes and tests, video clips, read the text, Study Smart and Study Skills strategies. I also encourage students to get good nutrition, enough physical activity, and adequate rest. Education involves the whole person and those who pay attention this will achieve the best results.
