About John
I started the violin at age three, and have been playing for 18 years. Throughout the course of my career, I started with the Suzuki Method. This gave me the building blocks I needed to become a professional performance-level violinist. Along the way, I have won multiple violin competitions (state and national qualifier), have played with an orchestra as the associate concertmaster and soloist in Carnegie Hall, and I have performed professionally in the Alexander Piano Trio. Through these experiences, I have played at over 100 weddings, and have performed at 100s of various venues and settings.

I am an enthusiastic teacher focused on fun and gaining vital skills in every lesson. I know all too well that learning the violin is not always fun, especially for young learners, but I strive to have my students leave with a smile on their faces after every lesson. I use the Suzuki Method of teaching violin, but have my own method to start new violinists, and a whole set of repertoire for those beyond the Suzuki Books.

For repertoire books, each student is responsible for purchasing their own books. For example, Amazon.com carries the Suzuki Method Books starting at about $13 for Book 1.
