About Nicholas
I am a very experienced math teacher (over 20 years). What I love about teaching is that everyone is different - I love the challenge of changing my approach and explanations to suit the individual. With mathematics it's very easy to "hit a wall" and feel like you are completely lost. Like anything it just requires time, practice and someone who can explain things in a simple way - me! It's so rewarding to see students improve and overcome their obstacles.

Hi there, I have over 20 years experience teaching math at university level. I know math can seem scary and challenging! I know how to make complicated ideas seem simple in a way that gives you confidence. My lessons are for NCEA levels 11 and above (ages 15 years+), or university subjects (I work at the University of Waikato so I can't tutor any students enrolled there). Phrases students have used to describe me in appraisals: "funny, kind, approachable, patient, never made me feel stupid, multiple ways to explain the same problem." I have been nominated for teaching awards.
