About Zubin
I am a 3D modeling, texturing & sculpting lab instructor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and a freelance 3D artist. I graduated from Vancouver Film School and hold a Bachelor's Degree in Media Arts from the University of the Fraser Valley. Teaching is a passion of mine, right up there with my love for 3D art. I've been teaching for 1.5 years and have had the pleasure of working with students of all skill levels. In terms of my own 3D art journey, I bring 4 years of experience in modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering assets. I'm skilled in using multiple industry-standard software to craft both high and low-polygon fully textured models and my background in media arts and graphic design has equipped me with a deep understanding of anatomy, form, composition, and color theory. I am experienced with software like Autodesk Maya (Rendering Engines: Arnold & Redshift), Substance Painter, Zbrush, Marmoset, Marvelous Designer, and many more. I focus mainly on 3D modeling and texturing techniques for hard surface models and props. Whether your focus is stylized or realistic, my aim is to support your creative vision and provide you with the technical skills and knowledge you would need to execute your ideas to perfection.
My goal is to assist you at every step of the 3D art-making process, from choosing a concept and creating models to unwrapping surfaces, adding textures, setting up lighting, and making your visuals captivating. Together, we'll bring your creative ideas to life using the magic of aesthetics and rendering.
Teaching and interacting with students on a daily basis and my commitment to personalized learning have allowed me to craft a tailored educational experience that puts 'your' goals at the forefront.
I welcome 3D artists of all levels, whether you are a seasoned CG artist or are looking for a place to start so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Let's make some exciting progress together!

Excellent! For Zubin, His comments and approach to what I was seeking, in line with others, and also very candid, which is not always easy, but the candid comments about what he knows and what he might not be able to assist me with, that candid thought is quite good, and I do find them genuine and great as a Tutor should be, and that is at least the greatest aspect of what a tutor should be

I had the pleasure of having Zubin as my Lab Instructor. He is very knowledgeable and eager to teach. He cares a lot about his students' improvement, and always does his best to help. Zubin has a very wide skillset and lots of experience with modelling / lookdev, plus he will always bring a positive energy to his classes. He has been of great help to me with the lighting of my final project! I learned so much from him, I recommend his lessons for modelling and/or lookdev students of all levels.
