About Emma
Hi, I’m Emma! I’m an experienced UKS2 teacher with nine years of classroom experience teaching English and maths. I love helping children discover that tricky concepts can make sense and that learning can be enjoyable. I enjoy supporting pupils to build confidence and independence, especially when they’ve struggled or felt unsure in the past. My lessons are patient, encouraging, and tailored to each child’s pace and learning style. I take time to explain ideas clearly, revisit prior learning, and give plenty of opportunities to practise until pupils feel secure and capable. I chose to tutor because I love working closely with children and helping them make real progress. Seeing pupils gain confidence, develop understanding, and enjoy learning is what I find most rewarding. I look forward to helping you build strong skills and feel confident in your learning journey!

In my lessons, I focus on securing foundations and filling gaps so pupils gain confidence through real understanding rather than memorising. I use a variety of strategies, allowing plenty of practice and repetition until concepts are clear. I also revisit and consolidate prior learning, helping pupils make connections and feel confident as they move forward. Lessons are calm, supportive, and tailored to each pupil’s pace, building both understanding and independence.
