About Sonia
Hello, I am 24 year old women who is 2 months away from having my 200 hour yoga certification through the Piedmont yoga program which is in Berkely. I am also a full time preschool teacher through Head Start. I am currently applying to graduate schools for a masters in Marriage Family Therapy with a focus in Somatic Therapy. Which is a form of therapy that emphasizes on connecting the body to the mind. I thought becoming a yoga teacher is a great way to start working closely with individuals who seek a hollistic approach to healing themselves. I have a past of knee surgeries so I know how to make the appropriate moderations and cues needed for any injures and people of all ages and levels. Please contact me for more information. I am currently donation based since I'm not 100% certified. I would love to start connecting with others who want to learn more yoga together as one and build a fun and loving yoga community.
Being present with others and helping them connect with their bodies and minds. It will prepare me for my long term goal to be a Licsced MFT with a specialization in Somatic therapy. I have practiced yoga for 5 years it has brought me down a more healthy path of self love and healing. It helps my attention, anxiety and depression I sometimes encounter with life's experiences and I hope it can help you too. Yoga also helps me find physical balance and appreciation of my physical body.
