Teaching method and techniques:
When working with students, in Math, I like define the problem or task at hand. From then on, I can simplify new terms and model the approach to solve a given problem. Once these steps are completed, I assist my student with practice problems and allow them to work on their own.
When working with students, in Reading, my approach can vary. It depends on the student, their skill set, confidence level, and the concept he/she has an issue with. When focused specifically on reading comprehension, for example, methods lean more toward the Socratic variety- allowing students to answer a given question and explain their way of thinking.
