Both of my girls ages 9 and 6 take violin lessons at String Struck with Amy. Amy is good at keeping my girls challenged and helping them learn at their own pace. Amy expects the girls to practice between lessons. She keeps a good balance between holding the girls responsible while still bing encouraging to them. Our daughter has been with Amy for 4 years now, our younger daughter just started half a year ago. Both girls love her! She is kind and firm at the same time, which I believe is necessary with any instrument. We really like that Amy’s stresses the fundamentals of technique on the instrument from the outset. She thoroughly explains why we hold the bow and violin a particular way to make us the best possible players. She is very patient with a beginner who is trying everything for the first time.
