About Chahenda
I am a 20 year old Egyptian/Tunisian that grew up in Cairo and is currently enrolled at the University of Saint Katherine in San Marcos.
I am a native Arabic speaker (Egyptian Dialect and Tunisian Dialect), fluent in English, and fluent in French (graduated from a French High-School and spent 2 years enrolled at l'Université de Lorraine in Nancy, France)
I started playing tennis at the age of 5, participated in multiple local Egyptian tournaments (top 10 nationally for 4 years), as well as multiple ITF tournaments abroad (Highest rank: 982). I am currently part of the University of Saint Katherine's Women Tennis Team with an athletic scholarship. Go Firebirds!
I am currently a sophomore majoring in Business Management with a GPA of 4.0. I have an average score of 97% in my College Algebra Course and am currently tutoring fellow students to help them understand this course better and try to make Math and Algebra less intimidating and scary to them.

About the lesson

Academically: Before meeting with the student, I start by asking them to explain the situations or problems they've been facing, and to send the contents of their curriculum to prepare my material and assessment "test". Once I meet the student I start assessing them orally to not frighten or put unintended pressure on them. After that assessment, I plan the way I'll present my help to the student according to their weaknesses.
Tennis:
If a beginner: I start by introducing the player to the racket and the sensation of the ball, by doing balance exercises, shadowing basic shots, and doing a hand-to-hand basket. By experience, this method helps the player and I feel more in sync which helps them move forward and learn faster.
If an intermediate: I start by doing a one-to-one rally from the service line to try and identify what the player's weaknesses are. I then move to the base line and continue ralying for a couple more minutes to see if the player has any other weaknesses than the ones identifyied in the beginning. I give them a break and then discuss what are the noticable weeknesses and accordingly plan the drills that they are going to play.
If pro (College level): I will hit balls with the player head-to-head and try to focus on finessing their game. Depending on the player's necessity or missing game aspect the session will be planned accordingly.
I have worked with kids starting from the age of 4 till the age of 13, and I have worked with fellow college students.
I believe it's important to relate to the student or the player and what better way to relate and make them feel comfortable than a fellow student as well. As much as I am helping my students and players as much as I'm learning from them.
