About Lisa
With a unique background in everything from working in Off-Broadway musicals in NYC, touring around the world singing everything from rock, pop, folk, jazz and blues to light opera and Yiddish music (aka: Klezmer), writing original music and producing my own one-woman, musical shows, to recording and producing albums in the studio, I have broad and extensive experience as a singer, performer, recording artist, actress, songwriter and creator. I also have decades of experience teaching, coaching and directing musical theater, voice, acting and songwriting and preparing people for auditions and performances. I love working with artists and performers of all ages to develop their technique, find that perfect song, hone their communication as a singer or actor, perfect their performing skills, or delve into their imagination and experiences to create original songs.

As a voice teacher working with a new student, I like to start by getting a sense of my student's vocal range, any past experience they have either singing or studying voice (including what has worked or not worked for them in the past), what kind of repertoire they are attracted to, and getting them familiar with some of the basics - including warmups, posture and vocalizing. If I'm working with an actor on a scene or monologue, I like to get a sense of their acting training and what techniques they've used in the past. If I'm teaching songwriting, I like to familiarize my student with some basic techniques that I use for writing a songs and coming up with specific imagery and ideas.
