I attended Casentino Voice, a summer program Valerie gave. She helped me in just 3 days to find the alignment of my voice. She is so talented and she has a lot of experience that she can find very fast the problema with our technique and work through it.

I had the pleasure of studying with Valerie Girard after taking a (non-prescribed) break from singing after a full recovery from minor nodes on my vocal chords. We met weekly for an hour in her home (equipt with music stands, grand piano).

The keen eye she kept on how I used my body/physical instrument and shaped my sound, her ease with direction and, of course, the proof of her skill in her incredible sound after a long performance career, all allowed me to begin vocalizing without fear and hesitation.

She worked with me to find my weaknesses and remained perceptive to them in every lesson. She caught every poor choice/slip up in technique and always led by example in correcting these things.

I was happy to meet with such a forward, honest teacher - it was just what I needed.

Val is so pleasant to work with and has a great sense of humor along with excellently tending to what you want her to help you with. Scheduling is always easy and she goes about teaching in a way specific to the way you will understand it. As well as feeling like you're learning, you feel as if you're working with a friend.

I met Valerie during a Masterclass held in Casentino in 2016. She was very positive, yet demanding and right on with spotting my technical issues. For the art of "bel canto" singing I have learned a lot during that week and - what I personally feel the best achievement of a Masterclass - taken inspiration and curiosity home with the wish to keep on working on these issues. Only a few lessons with Valerie have given me methods and ways of practicing the "bel canto specifics".
After returning home I have started working with her via Skype-lessons (which works fine, given a distance of about 6.400 kilometers).
