I have been very fortunate in discovering Tonja on line a couple of years ago and jumped at the chance to do an online class Merging Pastels and Watercolor. Fabulous content explained in great detail. Tonja offers inspiration, she is supportive and encouraging with all her alumini and promptly answers any questions. I was even more fortunate when I managed to take a two day workshop when Tonja was in Australia. An experience I will never forget and means an awful lot to me. I felt that I learnt an invaluable amount of technique and methods that Tonja explains so well to take steps to becoming a better artist in every way. She is a very generous and nurturing teacher and her critiques are structured in such a way to be guiding and encouraging. I would always be more than willing to take a class with Tonja, finances allowing.

As a professional artist, this course was so refreshing for me. Tonja’s lessons brought me back to the basics of art and design. It reminded me to pay attention to value, color integration, and adding variety to my work. It allowed me to experiment and play with new materials and to have fun! Tonja’s instruction is so thorough, making it perfect for a beginner or an advanced artist. I have really enjoyed taking this course and will definitely sign up for more!

Tonja has a wide breadth of knowledge of artmaking techniques and topics. Her art classes are thoughtfully planned and thorough. As a teacher she is approachable, personable and responsive. My painting and drawing skills have improved a lot since taking her classes. I was an art major in college - and in Tonja’s classes I learned tons of new art media techniques and methods. It’s rare to come across someone with her artistic diversity and creativity. She’s a great teacher and a skilled artist (her artwork is outstanding). I highly recommend Tonja for newbies looking to learn how to make art or experienced folks wanting to expand their skills.

Tonja is WONDERFUL!! She is knowledgeable across many media and styles of working. She is a fount of information and shares her knowledge (and materials) generously. I have taken several workshops from nationally-known artists and Tonja is top rank. She takes an interest in each of her students and is very helpful and encouraging.
I have also taken one of Tonja's online classes - wow! Couldn't believe the scope of all she offered in the class and her attention to detail. I got my money's worth and way more.
