Experienced tutor in Piano in Portland, Andrew offers private lessons tailored to your needs.

Andy was an amazing teacher for my son Max! Andy’s teaching style is patient, thorough and filled with enthusiasm! Max worked with him for four years before Andy relocated. Andy truly brought Max out of his shell and not only taught him piano but built his confidence. I highly recommend Andy and promise you will not be disappointed!

Andy demonstrates a unique combination of discipline and encouragement. I was his student for several years and, from the beginning, was extremely impressed with both his technical excellence and his ability to explain. He constantly noticed nuances that I had missed and pointed them out in a way that was most constructive. He was always devising ways for me to make subtle changes in mood, tempo, even fingering that helped me improve technique greatly. You will have a difficult time finding a teacher with his unusual combination of talents.

Andy really tailors his teaching to meet the needs and goals of his students. During lessons he gives great feedback and helps students set up effective practice plans. He also helps students develop the ability to assess their own playing, so they can get even more out of home practice.

Andy is very patient and sensitive to the personalities of his students. He was able to roll with my kid’s resistance to trying new techniques and helped her grow her own internal motivation to tackle pieces that were a reach for her.
