About Abdiel
Little Chopins, founded in 2012 and based in New York, NY, is a music lessons agency serving students of all ages and levels across New York City and online. It arranges private instruction at a student’s home or in a mentor’s studio, with group music classes available for Pre-K children.
Instruction covers piano; strings (violin, viola, cello, bass); woodwinds (flute, piccolo, saxophone, clarinet, bassoon, oboe); brass (trumpet, trombone); guitar; drums and percussion; and classical or pop voice. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, level, duration, frequency, and location.
Mentors are vetted young professionals with strong credentials. New students typically begin with a 45-minute jump-start lesson that includes assessment and goal setting. The agency offers guidance on instrument rental or purchase and holds two optional recitals each year.
Scheduling is flexible, with no long-term contract required. Families may adjust plans monthly, and a brief policy agreement clarifies make-ups, payments, and communication. Multi-sibling discounts are available, with additional discounts considered case by case; a referral that results in enrollment earns one complimentary lesson.
Little Chopins partners with Steinway & Sons through its founder, Steinway Artist and conductor Abdiel Vazquez, and can assist those interested in buying or renting pianos.
