My two kids have taken piano lessons with Mrs. Portzline for 9 months now, and I have noticed that their piano abilities have greatly improved. Mrs. Portzline has focused a lot on developing their ear for hearing music, transposing it, and picking out melodies. They're still beginners, but I can see that they are developing a great foundation for practical piano skills.

Diana makes learning piano fun and positive for my kids. They enjoy practicing (most of the time, anyway) and look forward to their lessons. They are also learning a lot. Diana also individualizes her approach to the kids' specific needs, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all course. She has a lot of knowledge/skills beyond basic note reading and can add in chords + lead sheets, learning by ear, and more.

Diana Portzline is the most knowledgeable music teacher we know and we know several great teachers. All three of my kids have connected with her and her teaching style and are thriving as a result of this experience and her care as a teacher. She selects music based on the child, their skills, and preferences which gives them a more custom experience and helps them to connect more to the music.
