About Kristin
Hi. I've been creating all kinds of art since I was a pre teen with pencils, charcoal, watercolors, acrylics, & oil paints. I've studied a great many different kinds of medium. My current fascination is screen printing. I've work as a professional art teacher in painting and art history to children as young as 2 to adults. I am also a senior in the BFA program at Columbia College Chicago. My passion is to spread the joys of art as widely as possible to those who wish to learn it!
I enjoy sharing my knowledge of and experience with art. I enjoy sharing the experience of painting with other people. I've seen the faces of children and adults alike light up when they've learned a new trick in painting or drawing. It makes me feel good to be able to provide them with the intangible satisfaction that hadn't had before!

Each lesson plan is catered to what the student wants to learn. Whether it be learning to sketch for the first time, learning about line quality, color, shading, subject matter... Or everything rolled into one. Sessions are 60 minutes and usually once or twice a week. Each initial greeting I ask to see any work you might have or to draw a little to see where your current knowledge lies and go from there.

Kristin has a genuine way of breaking down the steps to more forward in a piece. Very clear with her instructions, has patience with her students, sees the big picture while also noting the details. A+
Kristin is a pleasure to know. I love working with her. She taught me how to figure draw a cat when I was having trouble starting a piece. I've also seen that she's great with kids and also adults with her wide range of art knowledge and patience. You can tell she has a passion for teaching art. I had to take the time to review her because I really think she's a great teacher and a hard worker.
She exposed me to new ideas and methods. Always finds something to compliment even when I think it looks awful!
Kristin is an amazing artist, whose use of color and balance is beautiful. Above all she is very kind , genuine person. Any one taking a class from her will enjoy their time with her and will learn useful techniques.
When she explains things it makes creating art so easier. I feel like I have learned so much, and I am having so much fun!
She is very thorough. Went at my pace. Used outside resources such as internet and books. Seems to have a natural eye for art.
