About Wendy

I started teaching in summer camps as an art counselor working with children from  ages 4 to 12 years. 



I studied fine arts at Temple/Tyler School of Art for almost 3 years. I was an art counselor during 2 summers and I did arts and crafts while I worked in daycare for about 6 years.

     When I work with a new student, I begin by making an assessment of their knowledge in the subject being taught. I choose a theme and allow the student the freedom to do the project their own way.  It gives the student an opportunity to show what they know and also aids the teacher in deciding what lesson needs to be taught. For example, a person who only knows the basics would not be able to do projects meant for students with intermediate skills and you wouldn't want to teach basics to a student who already knows how to work projects at an intermediate level. Once the assessment is made, I can create lessons to improve the skill they already have



I enjoy working with the woman's group at my church. I have worked at a daycare with infants, toddlers, and I worked with the children from ages 4 to 13 years of age at Sunday school. 



When you learn something new, always remember to be patient with yourself. Some things take time to learn and lots of practice.  There are so many different types of art  and a variety of techniques to learn. The key is to find the type of art and technique that motivates and inspires you to create a masterpiece. Don't compare your work to others. Always seek to improve on yourself. Push your own limits and surprise yourself by what you can do.

Details

Each class would be for 2 to 4 hours a day for $50.00 an hour. 

If I travel to you,  add $5.00 for every half an hour drive to cover the cost of gasoline. (For example, an hour and a half drive would be $15.00, and a 2 hour drive would be $ 20.00.)
