About Trevor
I have a bachelor's degree in Economics with minors in French and Psychology. I have lived in France in a non-English speaking community for extended periods so I feel comfortable calling myself fluent. I went to a very competitive College Preparatory school growing up and picked up a lot of learning techniques that are unfortunately not made available to most students in the public education system. I tutored high school students in French, Math(up to Precalculus), and Physics while I was in college and was able to improve their grasp of the information which naturally led to higher grades. In addition, I've taken the SAT over two hundred times. I reached a point where I couldn't find a practice test that I hadn't already taken so I have picked up on patterns and tools to help improve standardized test scores.
I love teaching almost as much as I love learning. Nothing excites me more than seeing the look on someone's face when they grasp a concept for the first time. Seeing the wheels turning as the synapses connect and create new neural networks gives my life meaning.

First, I find out how far along the student's class is in the course curriculum. Then, I try to assess how far along the student is in the course curriculum to decide if they are falling behind or if there is a fundamental aspect of the course that is not getting through to the student and then I focus on that aspect until I feel that the student is up to speed.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think they should ask themselves if they want to understand the material or just improve their grade and when they come to the conclusion that they will benefit more in the long run by understanding the material they should ask themselves why certain concepts don't make sense to them. What does their natural intuition tell them would make more sense than what the concept actually is? Is this discrepensany consistent with their lack of understanding of other concepts in both school and life?
