About Jillian
I am a young professional who is passionate about Math and Math education! I have a B.S. in Mathematics from Bridgewater State University where I graduated with high honors. Since finishing college I have been working as a QA Software Engineer for a mathematical modeling company in Boston. I tutored fellow students, friends, and family members in Math during and after college. And at my current job I regularly mentor and train colleagues in complex topics related to math, computer science, and programming. I have received consistent positive feedback for my communication skills and especially my ability to explain and teach complex topics in an easy-to-understand way.
I love to help students improve in their math classes (lesson overviews, homework help, test preparation, studying) and also help them overcome any negative feelings towards math. I am always very patient, understanding, and kind. I know that many students have accepted the line "I'm just not good at Math", and I want to help reverse that thinking! I can guarantee you will feel very comfortable asking me questions and that I will help your grades improve.
I love math and helping people learn math! My favorite moments are when it *clicks* with the student and they are able to solve a problem on their own or explain it in their own words.
