About Jacob
I'm a UCLA student majoring in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology and looking to make money part-time as a tutor. I've enjoyed working with kids throughout my life and tutored students in math at a local after-school. I've been tutoring students over Zoom since the pandemic began. I worked as an editor on my high school newspaper so I can also tutor students in English.
The smiles that spread across my students' faces when they understand a concept that they struggled with is the most rewarding part of my work. I want to help students that they are more than capable of being successful in school and help them gain the confidence to push themselves in their academic pursuits.
I was a high school student looking to make pocket money so I got a part-time teaching job at an after school academy run by my friend's father. I taught Algebra to middle schoolers in both a one-on-one and classroom setting.

I've always struggled with algebra and writing, but Mr. Jacob was extremely patient and found different explanations that made sense to me. He has been my tutor for just a few months now, and my grades in math and English have already significantly improved from a B- to an A.
