About Skye
I currently work as an Adult Education tutor for Maine school system in mathematics specifically. I also recently graduated with a degree in Mathematics from USM and started work in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics there. I'm looking to continue some teaching and tutoring as I aspire to be a math professor one day.
I started teaching very young. I've always been really good at math and I have two younger siblings so helping them with homework was where I started and from there I've expanded.
I recently graduated from USM with a bachelor in mathematics. I currently teach adult education students, mathematics twice a week. I have also helped out with an elementary school math team in the past. I aspire to be a mathematics professor for my future career.

After I get an idea of what my student needs from me in terms of subject help, I am able to create somewhat of a tentative lesson plan. The reason for it being tentative is that students have different struggles all the time and if there's too much focus on keeping to a plan, there's no room to ask questions and explore other areas that may need improvement.
As I've mentioned, I work with adult education students who are usually around the age of 17/18. I've also worked with elementary school students.
Find someone who is willing to be open to the idea that you may not even know what you don't know. Someone who can work with you with patience and respect. You don't want to feel undermined while trying to learn a subject that may be difficult for you. I also encourage you to search for someone who is good with your subject area. Not all math is the same.

What specific subjects and/or lessons are you struggling with? Even bringing specific problems you're struggling with that represent bigger problems you don't understand. It's easier to help when we know what your basis for struggling is with.
